Bloggers Ball - Attending My First Bloggers Event

So last weekend I went to the Bloggers Ball. This is an event held by Scarlett Dixon (check out her blog here scarlettlondon.com she also has her own blog and has become very successful through it. She holds events for bloggers throughout the year and I had heard nothing but great things about them prior to this so I was looking forward to it.

The event was held in London, Soho at DSKRT with a glitzy glam theme but it wasn't a strict theme where we HAD to wear something glitzy glam but because of the weather, getting really dressed up was quite tricky. Everyone looked lovely though, I certainly got some outfit inspiration.

As I mentioned before, I was really looking forward to this event, I had booked my ticket 3 months before, I was literally googling blogging events in London and Scarlett's events popped up and I did not hesitate getting a ticket! Now, I have to be honest in saying that I nearly talked myself out of going to this event. There was a hashtag on twitter where everyone going could interact, arrange meet ups before hand, etc and as much as I tried to engage with others, I wasn't getting much of a response back. This really dampened my spirits because I felt like everyone had arranged to meet up with people and I had no one! This was my first event, I knew absolutely no one so you can only imagine how anxious I was about getting there and trying to fit in with people who may have already got in their own little groups. I became so negative about the whole thing but with support from my friends, family and boyfriend, they encouraged me to still go for it. So what if I was going by myself? I was sure to meet someone. Besides I didn't want to be stuck with the "what if?" thought in the back of my mind so I decided to suck it up and just hope for the best. Turns out, I had nothing to be worried about, one girl (Vanisha, check out her blog here thelifeofvanisha.comtweeted if anyone wanted to meet before hand for lunch at pizza express and I replied. A few other girls replied too and it was all set! We were going to meet up at pizza express by Chinatown for 12pm. It was at that moment where the excitement came back again! I couldn't wait to meet all the ladies going. A day before, my anxiety came back and I just felt nervous about how the day would turn out for me, this was also a big step for me as I'm not the most confident person, going by myself to an event where I knew no one was scary but I'm so proud of myself for doing it.. I've already booked tickets for the next event! #bloggersfestival

My first time trying dough balls and they are DE-LI-CIOUS!

Vanisha, Nancy and Alice :)

So I got to Piccadilly Circus for 11:30, I was the first one to arrive at Pizza Express, stood outside for about 10 mins waiting for the restaurant to open lol. Vanisha arrived after and the other ladies a little after that, everyone was so lovely and I had a great time having lunch with them. The venue was literally a 2 min walk from Pizza Express which was great, we arrived and as bloggers do we had some outfit photos taken outside the venue and headed straight in. Unfortunatley I didn't get any photos of the venue itself, I mean I tried to of course but I still need to figure out the settings on my camera so I can take photos where there isn't such great lighting. All the photos I took came out so blurry but apart from that I was so into the moment that I forgot to snap some photos on my phone as an alternative.. this was my first blogging event so I really was so mesmerised by it all.

We were one of the first people to get into the venue, which meant first dibs on all the goodies! I swear one minute I was looking at one stand, turned around and it was completely packed. There were so many people and it got crowded real quick, this didn't take away from the enjoyment of the event though. In fact, being surrounded by so many bloggers was so great for inspiration.

Overall I had a great day, I now see why people say good things about Scarlett's events. I'm so looking forward to the next one! I made friends with lovely ladies and I know we'll definitely stay in touch. Before I forget.. Jayde Pierce came to the event and I had such a fan girl moment I couldn't believe it lol. For those who don't know Jayde Pierce, she's a beauty blogger, she has her own YouTube channel and also does modelling. She's become so successful doing what she does and after watching her for so long, it was lovely meeting her in real life!

 Now onto the products!

Vatika Naturals

This is a South East Asian haircare and beauty brand, using the best natural ingrideants in their products featuring Argan Oil, Tea Tree, Cactus, Amla, Olive Oil, Black Seed and more! When the lady was explaining this to me I was instantly drawn in, anything with natural igrediants is always a great thing. She recommended I use the Black Seed Hair Oil on my natural hair as it will help keep it healthy and enriched. I don't have my natural hair out at the moment but I certainly will be using this! She also gave me one of their face washes, the Honey Moisture Boost Face Wash which I have already started using. It's got this gorgeous scent as you can imagine and there's also Aloe Vera and Almond in it! So far my skin has been reacting quite well but it's only been a week so I'll give it more time to really see some results.

Lipivir

Now this product really impressed me! Lipivir is a brand from Switzerland that sells a gel that prevents cold soars, I repeat.. it PREVENTS cold soars! I don't know about anyone else but I've never heard of anything it like it. I personally don't get cold soars and when they were explaining it to us on the stand they did say we could pass it on to a friend or family member who may suffer from cold soars. I also got the chance to get a free lipstick, there was a game we played first where we had to be blind folded and there was a paper in front of us with a face but we had to draw on the features whilst being blind folded.. I must say I did pretty well lol. After this there was a table full of lipsticks and two gentlemen gave us the options to choose which ever one we want! The brand was by Rimmel and the shade I got was Coffee Shimmer, gorgeous shade.

Seed and Bean

This is a British brand, creating ethical, unique tasting chocolate. I was so intrigued by the different flavours of chocolate, we had a little nibble of a few of the flavours, one that I really loved was the Lemon and Poppy Seed.. it was white chocolate which is my fav lol. As you can see from the photo above I've already had a bite of the chocolate that was in my goody bag. I don't really like dark chocolate to be honest but I want to find ways I can use this when cooking, I hear dark chocolate tastes great when used in food.

Exuviance

This is a dermatologist-developed skin care line. I was really looking forward to trying the product I was given, I thought it was great that the lady asked what skin type I had and what my routine is. That way she was able to give me a product that was targeted for my problem areas. I was given the Blemish Treatment Gel to help get rid of any blemishes and so far I can already see results! I think I'll do a separate review on this as there's another product that I was going to be given but it had run out, so they're kindly sending it over and I look forward to trying that as well.

Monin

This is a very popular brand which I'm sure a lot of you have heard of already. Monin is a French brand which produces different flavoured syrups and is the world's leading supplier of cocktail and coffee syrups. The stand was show casing this specific syrup, Chocolate Cookie Syrup.. Yum! They added this in a espresso martini which I've never had before but it was so good. I can't wait to start experimenting different ways I can use this syrup, starting with coffee :)

So...?

This brand offers a unique range of quality fragrances at affordable prices. Each scent is created with individuality in mind and I love how different the entire brand is, from its packaging to the unique scent names. I fell in love with scent London, it's 100% me! I love the sweet scents. You can actually find these products at Superdrug.

Chin Up

This is another unique brand, this 30 minute face mask allows you to make your chin smaller! I haven't tried it yet but I can't wait to test it out. I've seen some great results of this and honestly I'm amazed.

So there you have it! Those are all the goodies I was given and honestly I wasn't expecting to leave with bags full of stuff and there were a lot of sweets too which of course I've already eaten lol. I loved getting to talk to each brand and hear what they offered. I'm personally so proud of myself for going to this event, if there's anything that you're hesitating doing.. still go for it! Don't let your fears or anxiety stop you from doing anything. You never know how rewarding the results may be.
