Quote of the week

A friend of mine showed me those quote.. Sadly there was no source as to who wrote it but i fell in love with it because the words speak so much volume.

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you but merely opening your hands to recieve something better. Concentrate on this sentence.. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you"

Turning 21

I remember being 15 years old and saying I can't wait to be 21, it seems like that was years ago but with the way time is going so fast these days, it literally feels like it was just yesterday. I turned 21 on Halloween and I'd be lying if I said I felt totally different, I guess it's like any other birthday.. the age doesn't hit you straight away. I always said for my 21st I'll either go to Las Vegas or throw a huge Halloween party.. so which one did I do this year? Neither haha, which I'm quite disappointed in but I still enjoyed the day. I actually had to split up my birthday activities throughout the month of November which is okay because at least I celebrated with those close to me.

Before I turned 21 I thought long and hard about what was going to change in my life and I came up with a lot. Growing up I've always been such an introvert, I still am now but not as much. Over the past couple of years I've seen a lot of changes within myself, from confidence to just how I am as a person. I can't wait to share with you my post on confidence.. It's gonna be a long one but definitely worth the read. Anyway back to turning 21, one thing I wanted to bring more into my life was positivity and motivation. I think these are 2 of the most hardest things we can grasp as humans, for some it's easier than others. I speak for myself in saying being positive and motivated has been a struggle for sure! But positive for what you may ask? Motivated for what? Well anything! It can be from the smallest thing to getting up for school/university/work to achieving your life goals.

I myself would like to bring more positive vibes into my life and not look at such negative outcomes in any situations. I'd also like to be more motivated to achieve whatever it is I want to do in my life, for example this year I told myself I'd visit more places and do more activities but I didn't do enough of that, I'm aiming to do this more during my year of being 21 and on wards.

I feel so blessed to have reached 21 and I thank god for protecting me and guiding me down the right path, I've had my downfalls here and there but I managed to overcome them. I'm excited to see what this next year has in store for me as a 21 year old WOMAN.. yup, that's right I'm definitely becoming a woman now and it's so empowering!

Autumn

Autumn is definitely my favorite time of the year! I love everything about it, from the crisp sunny mornings to the gorgeous autumn/winter fashion. It's also the best thing snuggling up on the sofa with a hot chocolate watching movies but one thing that stands out the most to me is the scenery, everything just looks 10 times better in autumn lol.

My friend took these photos of me back in October, I wanted to show the outfit I was wearing but also capture the detail around me slightly. We took these photos in our local Park.

Welcome

Welcome! Let me first start off by introducing myself, I’m Shamilla and I’m currently in my second year of university studying Law. Just a quick background, for years now I’ve been wanting to start a blog, it was always between this or YouTube. I’ve been inspired for so long now and I’ve actually created many blogs in the past but never published any because none of them were what I wanted them to be. I was in such a rush to get my blog out there that it didn’t feel like what I was writing was real whereas now I’m in a place where I know this is the right time.

So, what to expect from this blog? Well over the past couple of years I’ve found a real passion for fashion, I know it’s a corny saying but it’s true! I’ve fallen in love with the different styles of fashion and how people put things together, I think the way you dress says a lot about your personality and I’m learning to develop a style that expresses “me”. Now I’m no fashion guru but I’ll be posting some outfits I’ve worn during the day, look books and how I put certain items together to create certain looks that represent my style.

Not only do I want to share fashion related posts but also lifestyle posts, this will mostly be about exciting things I’ve done in my day. I’ll also be writing about certain topics and giving my opinion, this will include relationships, confidence and many more. I'll also be giving my personal experience regarding those topics.

So I guess you could say there’s a lot to expect from my blog. I really feel like I’m coming into myself and sharing these experiences with others is something I want to do through my blog. I hope you can come along this journey with me!
