Time to de-stress!

With exam season around the corner, the stress levels are rising for a lot of us. It's so important to find ways for you to de-stress and not allow all the pressure to consume you or affect your revision sessions. This is something I've been struggling with personally, I hate saying "I'm stressed" but sometimes you can't help whats obvious. I mentioned briefly in my post on my university experience so far how the second year has been the hardest for me, mentally and physically and the stress has put me in some of the worst moods and has stopped me from actually getting any work done. I had to find ways to de-stress or else things would get worse and I'm glad I have a few things that have helped that I'd like to share so I can also help at least someone out there.

So let's get into it..

1. Have a nice, long bath -

I've always used bubble baths as a way to just relax, besides who doesn't love a good soak every now and again? Yes, a shower is quicker but trust me when I say a bubble bath is needed during stressful times. You can even add bath salts to have more of that relaxed feeling.

2. Pamper yourself -

It's funny because I used to pamper myself at least once a week, it was just a fun way to have some 'me time' and of course relax. Now I'm finding myself having to do it again to de-stress and it helps a lot. Get yourself a good face mask and paint your nails!

3. Watch a feel good movie -

Comedy's are perfect for this! I love having a good laugh, they say laughter is the best medicine and I totally agree. Whenever I feel down, I rely on my brother to make me laugh again or if he's not around then a funny movie does the trick. You can even watch Romantic Comedy's too, they're always good :)

4. Music! -

This is one of the most obvious, music is good for the soul I tell ya. You ever have your spirits lifted after listening to some music? Of course you have! Take some time out to just chill and listen to music, don't do anything but listen to music.. it is such a good way to de-stress.

5. Exercise -

I'll be the first to admit that my fitness routine has been slacking big time but I know how important it is to stay active, especially during a stressful time. I've been trying to incorporate morning runs around my local park into my weekly routine and yoga. Not only is it a great way to de-stress but it's also a good start to your day! Try exercise as much as you can, not just to look good but for the sake of your health.

So there you have it, 5 ways to de-stress. I just want to finish off by saying that allowing yourself to let stress consume you won't help in the slightest but at the same time it's okay to feel down but snap out of it before it's too late! Remember you're doing your best, all the hard work you're putting in today will pay off in the future. I should definitely be taking my own advice on that too lol.

I hope this helps someone, it's so important to take a time out and just breathe.

What are some other ways you de-stress?
