Yesterday evening I went for a lovely dinner at the Giggling Squid in Marlow. My bestfriend always told me how good the food was here and I'd never had Thai food before so I was so excited to go.
We actually had a double date here, I love double dates with my best friend and her boyfriend, we always have the best time and it had been a while since we last got together.
The decor in the restaurant is very simplistic, there's not a lot going on but it has a very sophisticated feel to it. I loved the wooden interior with a touch of purple to add colour.
Now onto the food!!
For starters I got the salt and pepper squid, possibly my favourite starter to get at any restaurant that has it. It was so lovely together with the sauce however the sauce was not enough at all, I wish they were abit more generous with it but it was still good regardless.
Of course I had to share photos of what the others had for starters lol.
Daniel had duck spring rolls.. the best duck spring rolls he's ever had lol. I tried abit of them and I totally agree, they were divine.
One thing that really stood out to me here was the presentation, it was just lovely to see how they presented little things like the sticky rice! As you can see, it came in these little baskets and wrapped up warm in some plastic. Sticky rice is officially my favourite thing now.
Myself and Daniel got the same main, as always! He copies me lol. Butterfly prawns in a thick, spicy red curry sauce.. absolutely beautiful. I can't fault this meal, honestly everything was perfect. There was a good amount of spice, bursting flavour and combined with the sticky rice, it just completed the meal. I also tried abit of Jasmine's meal which was also sooo good.
It's settled. We are are going back to this restaurant soon, I need to try out more! This restaurant is actually opening up next month at a closer location for us - already looking forward to it.
I highly recommend any lover of Thai food, to try out this restaurant or if you've never had Thai food before then this is the place to go. It's also reasonably priced so you get authentic Thai food for a decent price.
Question: What's your favourite international food?
Love Sham x
