Happy New Year!

Just like that, it's 2019! I feel like I've blinked and now it's January all over again. If you've been following my blog you'll know that at the end of the year I would write a blog post sharing what my year was like and any lessons learnt throughout that year. I obviously want to keep this annual thing going so let's get into it!

I initially was going to talk about how awful my year has been but it wasn't until I had a conversation with my boyfriend that he made me realize just how good this year has been. He made me look at things totally differently to how I normally do when it comes to reflecting on my year and although this year has been difficult in many ways, I've also had some great moments.

A couple things that stand out to me about this year is getting to go on my first 2 holidays with my boyfriend, getting to make the most out of my weekends, treating my mum on her birthday to a spa weekend, reaching 50,000 views on my blog and so much more! It's all the little things that have made my year quite special and I truly cherish those moments.

Another thing that really stands out to me is the confidence that I have gained. I have overcome some difficult things this year, my anxiety was tested in a number of ways but I've surprised myself a lot. Don't get me wrong, I had my break down. I didn't think I'd be able to overcome it but I did, I still struggle with anxiety on a daily basis, things don't always go the way I've planned but it's all becoming a lot easier to deal with. I'm slowly becoming the best version of myself. I haven't even scratched the surface of the woman I want to become but I am totally going in the right direction.

It's so easy for us to look at the negatives of our lives and we do this so often that it becomes harder to acknowledge the positives and all the good that is going on. My advice is to just take a moment to appreciate all the little things you have in your life, it's those little things we tend to take for granted. Besides, things could always be worse so why not change your approach to something more.. positive?

I truly wish you all a year full of happiness, health and blessings! Make 2019 a great year. There will be those down moments but don't let that define the year you're going to have. Just.. do more of what makes you happy!
