I've missed you!

Where do I even begin!? I can't believe it's almost been a year since I last blogged but I've missed it soooo much and it feels just to be typing like this again lol. If you saw my last post then you'll know I've started YouTube, I've made a few videos but shock horror, I've not been the best at staying consistent. Working full time and depending on day light is a struggle! I've missed the simplicity of blogging, not that I'm gonna stop YouTube but I wanna bring back the blog.

So what have I been up to? Well, we’ve mainly been in lockdown so it’s been the same routine for a very long time. Something I did a lot of was going for nature walks, I discovered a love for this and my step count really went up! Of course I did a lot of binge watching series on Netflix and Prime, my favourite series I started was Bridgerton and This Is Us! When the restrictions were eased a bit, we went out to restaurants, did shopping.. the main thing I’ve missed doing, is going to the cinema! I cannot wait to go to a cinema and order a ridiculous amount of cinema food lol.

Here some nature photos from our walks!

Myself and Daniel also went to Edinburgh in September last year, I had always wanted to go so it was the perfect opportunity. Luckily everything was open so we definitely made the most out of the trip, I am desperate to go back and see more of the nature there.

The last year has been tough on all of us, lockdown made me realise so much, I really started to beat myself about so many things - for example not posting so much on my YT channel and not blogging anymore. I began to compare myself to other people, questioning why I didn't have the same enthusiasm and drive to be consistent with things. It felt like people either started their own business, accomplished a long term goal and making real changes in their life! With social media, you can't help but see all of these things and long behold, that tiny voice in your mind just starts to get louder.

I'm happy to say that I'm no longer in that place of comparison. Regardless of what I may not have done during lockdown, there's still things I'm proud to have accomplished during lockdown. The biggest thing for me was completing my HR course! I was studying the CIPD Level 5 course which is equivalent to a masters in HR, I was only a couple months from completing when lockdown first started but I still had to get through that final push. Looking back, I’m super proud of myself for sticking to it. Although my consistency hasn’t been the best, I’m still proud of starting my YT channel as it was a long time coming.

I feel super excited to start blogging again and I feel like I've found the enjoyment in blogging again. A friend of mine was saying we've become so obsessed with wanting things to be perfect that we've lost the joy in just sharing stuff. This couldn't be more true, it goes back to comparison and feeling like what you share isn't as good enough. I'm sick of having that mentality and I just want to get back into things for the fun of it!

Watch this space guys and if you want to see what I’ve been sharing over on my YT… or subscribe, check it out here!
